Marathon Updated to Version 1.0.5.1

Bungie has launched a new update for Marathon, advancing the game to version 1.0.5.1. This patch delivers a series of technical corrections and enhancements, aiming to provide a more stable and balanced gameplay experience. Regarding in-game items and their economy, Cryo Archive shell styles that are not yet owned can now be viewed within the customization menu, mirroring the functionality already present in the Codex.

Comprehensive Patch Details

For gameplay, a significant issue involving the Thief has been resolved. Previously, a bug allowed players to reset the 'Pickpocket' drone's cooldown by activating the primary ability just as its timer expired.

Several bugs affecting maps, specifically Outpost and Cryo-Archive, have been addressed. These corrections target errors that permitted players to move outside the intended boundaries of areas, leading to problems such as objects clipping through environments or visual elements failing to render correctly.

Numerous fixes have been implemented for the user interface and overall player experience. These include resolving a malfunction where extraction points would disappear from the map after being repeatedly pinged, and correcting localization errors found in ranked cosmetic challenges and Codex entries. Additionally, several contract-related issues have been ironed out, such as an incorrect update timer ('+1 week') and a bug that erroneously displayed contracts as 'Contract Disabled,' preventing access.

On the front of general stability, the update also tackles various crashes, disconnections, and other errors that would previously return players directly to the lobby. Finally, an issue within the matchmaking system that led to unexpectedly long wait times in the experimental two-player mode has been corrected.
