Blade Runner 2099 Brings the (Near) Future to New York Comic Con
If you can't answer questions like whether you'd accept a calfskin wallet as a birthday gift or identify a wasp on your arm without hesitation, you might struggle in the world of Blade Runner 2099. Prime Video's new series, set in the universe of Ridley Scott's original 1982 film and Denis Villeneuve's 2017 sequel, is hosting an immersive event at New York Comic Con. The goal: to finally distinguish Blade Runners from replicants.
The "Blade Runner 2099 Immersive Fan Experience," running on Saturday, October 10th from 10 AM to 6 PM ET at Meatpacking Collective (412 West 14th Street), transforms the venue into the futuristic Los Angeles of the upcoming eight-episode Prime Video show. Starring Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer, the event promises more than just a casual look at props.
Attendees step into the shoes of a human undercover as a replicant, similar to Schafer's character, Cora. In this 2099 setting, replicants dominate, and humans are second-class citizens.
The experience begins in a restricted area of the LAPD, where visitors undergo a "bone scan" by a futuristic police officer.
Upstairs, participants visit the Replicant Birth Center and Memory Lab. Here, newly created replicants receive implanted memories. Guests can also get their own custom memory implant, a more straightforward process than recalling Voight-Kampff test answers.
Successfully passing as a replicant allows visitors to relax at La Paloma, a nightclub-inspired space. Whether androids dream of electric sheep or not, they clearly enjoy a futuristic discotheque.
The Blade Runner 2099 fan experience is free and open to the public aged 18 and over. You can book a 30-minute time slot for the event. Note that tickets are limited for each time slot.
Beyond the interactive experience, Blade Runner 2099 will feature a panel on Saturday, October 10th, at 6:45 PM ET on the Empire Stage at the Javitz Center. Stars Michelle Yeoh, Hunter Schafer, Dimitri Abold, Lewis Gribben, and Matthew Needham are expected, alongside producers Silka Luisa, Andrew Kosove, and Broderick Johnson.
All eight episodes of Blade Runner 2099 premiere on Wednesday, November 25th, on Prime Video.

Robert Pattinson's 'The Interview' Anti-Hero: A Star-Making Performance
Robert Pattinson's portrayal of Chris Hansen in The Interview feels almost unnervingly fitting. One might imagine the real Hansen finding a strange satisfaction in being depicted by a Batman actor. Pattinson fully embraces the role, delivering the kind of dramatic close-ups that mid-2

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4 Episode 8 Review – Orders of Magnitude

Is the Nazi Metaphor in Starship Troopers Really That Hard to Grasp?
For those unfamiliar with the nuances of the increasingly niche Gen X and millennial pop culture, Starship Troopers was a 1997 film adaptation (and some might argue, an utter betrayal) of Robert A. Heinlein's 1959 science fiction novel of the same name. Directed by Dutch provocateur and cynic Paul

PlayStation Store Lawsuit: Sony Agrees to $7.85 Million Settlement, But Why?
The case dates back to 2019. Until then, retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart could sell codes for downloading specific games on the PlayStation Store. These resellers were free to offer promotions on these codes, directly competing with Sony Interactive Entertainment

House of the Dragon Season 3 Finale: Steve Toussaint on Corlys' Cunning Politics
If Daemon weren't Daemon, I think that plan would have worked. Rhaenyra remains queen, Daeron becomes Warden of the South, and everyone is happy. Yes, I think you're absolutely right. But the moment Corlys says, "You have to decide what you want: whether you want Rhaenyra on th
