Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection on Switch: Get 14 Games for $20 During Prime Day

During Prime Day, the Yu-Gi-Oh Early Days Collection for Nintendo Switch is available at a significant discount, priced at just $20 on Amazon. Stock is limited and selling fast; Target`s supply of this deal has already been depleted multiple times recently. If Amazon`s stock runs out, Walmart offers the collection for $22.18. Due to the substantial savings ($30 or $28), both retailers are likely to sell out quickly, highlighting the popularity of this promotion.

Released on February 27, the Early Days Collection is available exclusively for Nintendo Switch and PC. It compiles 14 classic titles from the Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance eras, spanning the years 1998 to 2003. The physical version, unique to the Switch, also includes a special Secret Rare Yu-Gi-Oh trading card – specifically, one of two possible Quarter Century Secret Rare versions of Harpie`s Feather Duster.

The collection features a complete list of all 14 games, originally released on Game Boy (GB), Game Boy Color (GBC), or Game Boy Advance (GBA). Notably, five of these titles were previously exclusive to Japan.

Included Games:

  • Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters (1998, GB)
  • Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 2: Dark Duel Stories (1999, GBC)
  • Yu-Gi-Oh Monster Capsule GB (2000, GBC)
  • Yu-Gi-Oh Dark Duel Stories (2000, GBC)
  • Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelists (2000, GBC)
  • Yu-Gi-Oh Dungeon Dice Monsters (2001, GBA)
  • Yu-Gi-Oh The Eternal Duelist Soul (2001, GBA)
  • Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 6: Expert 2 (2001, GBA)
  • Yu-Gi-Oh The Sacred Cards (2002, GBA)
  • Yu-Gi-Oh Reshef of Destruction (2003, GBA)
  • Yu-Gi Oh Worldwide Edition: Stairway to the Destined Duel (2003, GBA)

Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters marked the series` initial major success and was the sole title released on the original Game Boy. The franchise gained significant momentum on Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance in the early 2000s. It`s notable that all 14 included games were launched within a brief five-year period, between 1998 and 2003.

Interestingly, these are not the only Yu-Gi-Oh games released during that era. While the Early Days Collection compiles the first 14 handheld titles, Konami also released several games for home consoles such as PlayStation, GameCube, and PlayStation 2 during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
