Ubisoft`s The Rogue Prince of Persia, previously released in Steam Early Access on PC in 2024, makes its anticipated console debut today. It is now available to subscribers of both Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra.

The announcement was made during today`s Xbox Gamescom livestream. The game is launching on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, and PS5, with Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions arriving later this year.

This console launch aligns with the game`s 1.0 release, also effective today, August 20. Ubisoft stated:

“After more than a year of early access, over 15 major updates integrating community feedback, an entirely reworked art direction and changed color palette, a variety of new biomes, weapons and trinkets as well as an enriched metaprogression, the game has reached its final form for all players to enjoy.”

The Rogue Prince of Persia was developed by Evil Empire, known for their work on Dead Cells, and published by Ubisoft. GameSpot`s Early Access review awarded the game an 8 out of 10.

The game is set in the city of Ctesiphon, where players assume the role of a new prince who inadvertently provoked the Hun army. In retaliation, Hun chief Nogai unleashed his possessed soldiers upon Ctesiphon. The prince must now defend his city and utilize a mystical artifact to manipulate time, preventing his permanent demise at the hands of his foes.

Additional titles joining Game Pass in August include Gears of War: Reloaded, Persona 4: Golden, Void/Breaker, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard, among others.
