Компания Microsoft объявила о повышении стоимости подписок Xbox Game Pass Ultimate и PC Game Pass, после чего попыталась объяснить и обосновать это решение, столкнувшись с реакцией сообщества.
В интервью изданию The Verge Дастин Блэквелл, директор Microsoft по игровым и платформенным коммуникациям, отметил: «Мы понимаем, что повышение цен никогда не радует никого, но мы стремимся компенсировать это, добавляя больше ценности к этим планам».

Как и Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass продолжит предлагать новые релизы от Microsoft в день их официального выхода.

Microsoft has announced price increases for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscriptions, and the company has since attempted to explain and justify this decision in response to community feedback.
In an interview with The Verge, Dustin Blackwell, Microsoft`s director of gaming and platform communications, stated: “We understand that price increases are never fun for anyone, but we are striving to compensate for this by adding more value to these plans.”
He further emphasized: “We do not take this lightly, and we are listening to feedback from players and the community, striving to offer them more of what they are asking for to enhance their gaming experience.”
For Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, Microsoft has introduced additional benefits such as access to Fortnite Crew and Ubisoft+ Classics, alongside significantly enhanced streaming quality for Xbox Cloud Gaming. Consequently, the monthly subscription cost will rise from $20 to $30, representing a substantial 50% increase. However, consumers are currently advised not to rush into paying the new price, as many retailers have not yet adjusted their pricing and are still offering subscriptions at the older rate.
The price of PC Game Pass will also increase, going from $12 to $16.50 per month. A significant new benefit for PC users includes access to a library of approximately 50 additional Ubisoft games. Like Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass will continue to offer Microsoft`s new releases on their official launch day.
Notably, these Game Pass price adjustments closely followed Microsoft`s recent decision to raise prices for Xbox gaming consoles in the US once more, raising questions about the company`s overall pricing strategy.
