Wildgate: Post-Launch Support Detailed by Moonshot Games

Wildgate, a highly anticipated space game focusing on crew-based PvP combat, is nearing release. Developer Moonshot Games has recently unveiled its comprehensive plan for supporting the game after its launch, promising a steady stream of content through frequent events and seasonal updates.

Following the conclusion of a successful open beta phase, Moonshot has outlined the changes and additions arriving with Wildgate`s full release next week, as well as future content. On day one, players can expect enhancements to player progression, refinements to the matchmaking system, the introduction of in-game cosmetic purchases, and a deluxe edition of the game. Progression updates will include a new infamy system, additional milestones and objectives for players to pursue, and scrap crates.

Shortly after launch, the game will kick off Season 1. This first major update will introduce new in-game items such as weapons and cosmetics, a new playable “prospector” character, and other fresh content. The studio also intends to implement bi-weekly “reach anomalies,” which are dynamic additions to the game world. According to the roadmap, these anomalies can range from new environmental hazards and hardpoint upgrades to new points of interest (POIs), and once added, they will become a permanent part of the game`s procedural generation system.

Moonshot and publisher Dreamhaven have confirmed plans for at least two more seasons following the first. These future seasons are slated to bring new areas to the game world, in addition to more anomalies, weapons, equipment, and cosmetic items. Beyond the seasonal structure, ongoing post-release support is planned through mid-season patches, specifically designed to incorporate changes and refinements based directly on player feedback.

Wildgate is set to launch on July 22, available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The base game will be priced at $30. The majority of the seasonal content, including new weapons, equipment, characters, and anomalies, will be available for free to all players. An optional “adventure pass” can be purchased each season to unlock additional cosmetic items, though the cost for this pass has not yet been announced by the developer.
