July 15, 2024
According to reputable insider Nate the Hate, the next Nintendo Direct presentation is strongly anticipated to occur this month, July 2024. During a podcast on July 14, he revealed that the upcoming Direct is scheduled to take place specifically after the launch of “Donkey Kong Bananza” for Switch 2, which is set for July 17.
While the precise date remains unconfirmed, Nate the Hate`s statement indicates that fans should prepare for an announcement sometime after July 17, provided his information proves accurate. He explicitly stated, “I have been told there is a Direct this month, the month of July, but that Direct will not take place until after Donkey Kong Bananza releases.”
A new Nintendo Direct could potentially unveil a range of exciting news. Speculations include updates on a possible Donkey Kong movie, confirmation of Red Dead Redemption II for Switch 2, or insights into Activision`s plans to bring Call of Duty to the Switch platform.
It`s important to note that a Pokémon Presents event is already slated for July 22. Although it`s not unheard of for Nintendo to host both an adjacent event and a main Direct in the same week, Nate the Hate suggests it`s more probable that the July Direct will occur during the final week of the month. This timing would place the presentation conveniently ahead of Nintendo`s latest earnings results, which are due on August 1.
Reviewing recent history, the most recent Nintendo Direct on June 18 was exclusively dedicated to Bananza. Prior to that, a significant Switch 2 Direct took place on April 2, followed by a Mario Kart World Direct on April 17. Interestingly, Nintendo did not hold a general Nintendo Direct event in July 2024 or July 2023. However, this historical pattern does not necessarily preclude a July 2024 event. Fans eager for news are encouraged to monitor Nintendo`s official channels, including the Nintendo Today app, where announcements are sometimes made just before wider dissemination.
