This week, “Fantastic Four: First Steps” brings Marvel`s first superhero family back to the big screen after a decade-long hiatus. While the Fantastic Four don`t currently have their own video game, they are prominent characters in Marvel Rivals. In the video below, the entire cast takes turns playing as their respective characters in the game.
YouTube host Loserfruit organized this gathering when the cast was in Australia to promote the film. It`s clear that none of the Fantastic Four cast members are avid gamers; Pedro Pascal, for instance, mentioned that his gaming experience didn`t go beyond the original Nintendo console. Nevertheless, everyone participated: Ebon Moss-Bachrach played as The Thing, followed by Pascal as Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby as Invisible Woman, and Joseph Quinn as the Human Torch.
The actors reacted amusingly to some of the alternate Fantastic Four costumes, including the team`s wedding attire. They were also struck by Invisible Woman`s Malice skin, which Kirby jokingly suggested should be included in the “First Steps” sequel. If that was shocking to them, someone should have filmed their reactions to the original Malice costume from the 80s.
At one point, Vanessa Kirby mistakenly thought her character was naked while invisible. However, this was merely an application of Invisible Woman`s power. The entire cast seemed to be enjoying themselves, mashing buttons and utilizing their characters` abilities, though they are far from ready for competitive Marvel Rivals matches.
Marvel Rivals recently added Phoenix to the game, with Blade set to follow soon. The Fantastic Four had already been added to the game earlier this year. NetEase also hinted at the potential addition of more Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) tie-ins in the future, but the developers emphasized that the game`s storyline will always take precedence over any MCU content.
