Bethesda Game Studios is extending its gratitude to the nine million players who have explored the world of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. This impressive milestone was achieved in just over three months since the game`s launch on April 22nd. Notably, the revamped RPG made a surprise debut on Game Pass for PC and Xbox Series X|S, alongside digital releases across these platforms and PlayStation 5.
Bethesda announced Oblivion Remastered`s success on BlueSky, expressing appreciation to fans for “sharing in our worlds.” The new version of the game, a remaster of the 2006 original for PC and Xbox 360, was developed by Virtuos. Unfortunately, Virtuos recently underwent significant layoffs this month, affecting various teams, including their French office which contributed to Oblivion Remastered.
A few weeks prior, Oblivion Remastered received update 1.2. This patch introduced a sixth difficulty option, “Journeyman,” positioned between Adept and Expert levels. Furthermore, the update delivered numerous performance and gameplay enhancements, and discreetly resolved a significant bug related to the Dark Brotherhood questline.
Currently, Oblivion Remastered holds the second spot among the best-selling games of 2025, underscoring the considerable success of this enhanced RPG. Reviews consistently highlighted the game`s “stunning visual presentation.”
