Switch 2’s Pro Controller Has Been Wildly Popular So Far

The Switch 2 gaming console has shown impressive initial sales figures, but the popularity of its Pro Controller is particularly noteworthy. Approximately one-third of new console buyers also opted for the premium $85 accessory.

According to Circana industry analyst Mat Piscatella, the Switch 2 Pro Controller achieved a 32% attach rate during the console`s launch month and was June`s best-selling accessory by dollar revenue.

Around 512,000 Pro Controllers were sold in the US in the first month, which is significant given that it`s an optional luxury item and the original Switch Pro Controller is also compatible. A $5 price increase was likely due to import tariffs.

While the high attach rate might decrease after the initial wave of enthusiastic early adopters, Piscatella still characterized the console`s launch as a “helluva good start,” emphasizing its potential for long-term success.
