Starfield Continues Its Journey with Major New Content and a Second Story Expansion

Bethesda isn`t slowing down its commitment to the 2023 space role-playing game, Starfield. According to lead creative producer Tim Lamb, who shared the news in a recent video, players can anticipate a steady stream of new content, notably a second major story expansion.

Lamb expressed his excitement, stating, “I`m incredibly eager for players to discover what our team has been crafting. We have an array of exciting additions planned, including complimentary updates, features frequently requested by the community, and a brand-new narrative DLC. While I can`t divulge every detail just yet, I can confirm that a segment of our team is dedicated to enhancing space travel, aiming to make voyages more rewarding. Furthermore, new gameplay systems and various other delightful surprises are on the way.”

Starfield`s initial story downloadable content, “Shattered Space,” arrived in September 2024, introducing a new celestial body, alongside an expanded arsenal and equipment. Details regarding the plot or content of the upcoming second DLC remain undisclosed.

Predictably, Lamb steered clear of discussing ongoing Starfield rumors, particularly those concerning potential releases on PlayStation 5 and Switch 2. A recent credible leak suggested that Starfield might launch on these consoles in 2026, though no official confirmation has been provided.

Beyond its continuous efforts on Starfield, Bethesda Game Studios is also actively developing highly anticipated titles such as The Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5. The studio`s most recent offering, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, has already secured its place as the second best-selling game in the U.S. for 2025.
