The highly anticipated return of EA`s Skate franchise is set for an early access launch this week. To clarify exactly when players can begin their experience, developer Full Circle has officially released the global launch schedule. The game servers are slated to go live on either September 16th or September 17th, depending on your specific geographical region.
The original Skate game debuted in 2007, with its sequels, Skate 2 and Skate 3, following in 2009 and 2010 respectively. A mobile game, Skate It, was also released in 2008. After remaining dormant for over a decade, EA announced a new installment, simply titled Skate, in 2020.

The new Skate is structured as a free-to-play, always-online title, supported by various microtransactions. As it enters early access, it`s important for players to understand that this version does not represent the full, complete experience and may not be perfectly balanced. Full Circle has expressed its commitment to actively incorporating player feedback to guide the game`s future development. This iterative process is expected to lead to the addition of new game modes, tricks, leaderboards, party voice chat, and other general improvements over time.
One notable feature available from day one is comprehensive cross-play and cross-progression functionality. This allows for seamless gameplay and progress transfer across multiple platforms, including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
The game unfolds within the fictional metropolis of Sna Vansterdamn, a world composed of four distinct neighborhoods. Full Circle has stated that this game world is designed to be “ever-evolving,” with continuous updates planned throughout the early access period, introducing new areas, challenges, and musical content for players to discover.
