PokePark Kanto: Your Real-World Pokemon Adventure Awaits in 2026

Anticipation is building for the grand opening of PokePark Kanto in early 2026. Located in Tokyo, this new attraction promises an immersive experience for Pokemon fans. Visitors will soon be able to explore beloved areas like Sedge Town and the Pokemon Forest, where they can observe iconic creatures such as Pikachu thriving in their natural environments. Advance tickets are expected to go on sale later this year, giving eager trainers a head start.

Details about the new PokePark Kanto were unveiled during a recent Pokemon Presents livestream. According to The Pokemon Company, this marks a significant milestone as it will be the `first permanent outdoor Pokemon attraction` ever. The park spans an expansive 26,000 square meters within Yomiuriland and is meticulously designed around two distinct primary zones. The Pokemon Forest is dedicated to showcasing Pokemon in authentic natural settings, while Sedge Town offers a unique concept where trainers and Pokemon coexist and share communal spaces.

An interesting aspect of PokePark Kanto is its independent development; it is not affiliated with Universal theme parks. This distinguishes it from the Super Nintendo World attractions that have recently opened at Universal Orlando, Hollywood, and Japan, which feature characters like Mario.

PokePark Kanto was first announced in December 2023. The park pays homage to the original Kanto region, the iconic setting of the foundational Game Boy titles, Pokémon Red and Blue, which first launched in Japan in 1996. The theme park`s opening will serendipitously coincide with the 30th anniversary of these groundbreaking games.

In addition to the theme park news, the Pokemon Presents event also featured other exciting announcements. The Pokemon Company revealed `Pokemon Friends`, a new title set to release on Nintendo Switch and mobile devices. Furthermore, a fresh trailer for `Pokemon Legends Z-A` debuted, providing fans with a first look at the residents of Lumiose City.
