Pokemon Detective Pikachu 4K Steelbook Edition: Now Available at an Unprecedented Low Price

A new 4K Blu-ray Steelbook Edition for the beloved film “Pokemon Detective Pikachu,” released earlier this year, is currently available on Amazon at a remarkably low price. Initially priced at $33, this vibrant Limited Edition Steelbook can now be purchased for just $19.49. Furthermore, select customers might qualify for an additional 20% discount, bringing the price down to an even more attractive $15.59.

The original Blu-ray release of “Detective Pikachu” in 2019 included a Best Buy exclusive steelbook case, which has long since become a rare find, mostly available through overpriced reseller markets. The design for this new 2025 Steelbook Edition draws inspiration from one of the iconic Pikachu posters used during the film`s original theatrical promotion.

This Limited Edition Steelbook of “Detective Pikachu” is a comprehensive package, including both a 4K Blu-ray disc and a 1080p Blu-ray disc. It also comes with a voucher for a digital copy, redeemable until June 30, 2027. The steelbook itself boasts charming artwork: Pikachu’s smiling face with Ryme City in the background adorns both the front and back covers, while the interior features a memorable screenshot of Tim Goodman and Pikachu. Technically, this edition is an upscaled 4K Blu-ray with HDR10 support and multiple advanced audio options, including Dolby Atmos, TrueHD 7.1, and Digital 5.1.

Bonus Features

All 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray editions of Pokemon Detective Pikachu come loaded with these bonus features:

It`s worth noting that standard editions of “Detective Pikachu” are also frequently sold at low prices, with the 4K Blu-ray currently available for $15 and the 1080p Blu-ray for $8.

“Detective Pikachu” significantly influenced perceptions and expectations for video game adaptations, establishing a benchmark for live-action films based on beloved game franchises with animated aesthetics. Before “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” broke records in 2023, “Detective Pikachu” held the title of the highest-grossing video game adaptation. While it was still ranked No. 2 at the start of 2025, it was soon surpassed by “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” and later by “A Minecraft Movie,” which nearly reached $1 billion at the box office.

For those looking for more Pokemon collectibles, the “Pokemon: The Movies 1-3 Steelbook Collection” on Blu-ray is currently back in stock for $33 (down from $40).
