Patrick Gibson Confirmed as James Bond in ‘007 First Light’

During the recent PlayStation State of Play event, IO Interactive unveiled extensive gameplay footage for their upcoming James Bond title, “007 First Light.” The developer also officially confirmed that actor Patrick Gibson will portray the iconic British super-spy, James Bond.

This confirmation follows months of fan speculation, largely fueled by the noticeable resemblance between Gibson and the game`s character model for Bond.

Expressing his excitement, Gibson stated, “It`s thrilling to be bringing this character to life in the gaming world.” The announcement also revealed key cast members: Lenny James will play Bond`s mentor, Greenway; Priyanga Burford takes on the role of M; Alastair Mackenzie is cast as Q; Kiera Lester will portray Moneypenny; and Noemie Nakai rounds out the cast as Ms. Roth.

Furthermore, IO Interactive showcased an extended gameplay segment for “007 First Light,” which reviewers noted for its cinematic quality, reminiscent of the Bond films. The full gameplay segment is available to watch below.

“007 First Light” is slated for release on May 27, 2026, and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. A special collector`s edition, priced at $300, will include a miniature Golden Gun replica. All preorders will automatically receive an upgrade to the deluxe edition of the game.
