Overwatch 2 Season 18: Persona Crossover Revealed

Keeping with a well-established tradition, Overwatch 2`s new season trailers consistently tease forthcoming collaborations. The latest preview for Season 18 continues this trend, concluding its presentation of new features with a striking silhouette of Joker, a prominent character from Persona 5.

If this Overwatch 2 and Persona partnership follows the pattern of previous crossovers, it`s anticipated that several Overwatch 2 heroes will receive new cosmetic skins inspired by Persona`s iconic characters. Blizzard has yet to share concrete details or an in-game launch date for this particular collaboration. Prior crossover events have introduced hero costumes based on popular franchises such as G.I. Joe, Transformers, Street Fighter, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

New Features and Hero Wuyang

Beyond the exciting collaboration tease, Blizzard is also highlighting Season 18`s innovative Stadium Quick Play mode. This new mode is designed to offer quicker match times, a faster item economy, and full cross-play support. At the launch of Stadium Quick Play, players will be able to choose from Winston, Brigitte, and Pharah, with Tracer slated to join the roster midway through the season.

The most significant new character joining the game is Wuyang, a hero whose water-based abilities may evoke a sense of familiarity for fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Blizzard has indicated that Wuyang signifies a shift away from Overwatch 2`s more unconventional character designs, though they haven`t entirely ruled out the possibility of future non-human characters.

Overwatch 2 Season 18 is scheduled to launch on August 26th. This new season will bring a competitive rank reset, offering all players a fresh start in ranked play. Additionally, the launch will introduce over 50 new perks, ensuring that every hero in the game benefits from at least one new advantage.
