The cult classic Lollipop Chainsaw, which first debuted in 2012 featuring Juliet Starling, a zombie-slaying cheerleader, is set for a major return. Beyond its 2024 remaster, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, the franchise has been largely dormant. However, a new partnership between Dragami Games and Nada Holdings is now paving the way for “multiple new projects” within the Lollipop Chainsaw universe.
Both companies have jointly confirmed their intention to “jointly launch multiple new projects” rooted in the Lollipop Chainsaw intellectual property. While specific details remain under wraps, possibilities include new video games or even a potential film adaptation.
Shohei Sato, President and CEO of Dragami Games, expressed gratitude to Lollipop Chainsaw fans for their unwavering support and commended Nada Holdings for providing the opportunity to revitalise the franchise.
Sato highlighted Nada Holdings` “deep affection and enthusiasm” for the title, acknowledging their strong background in intellectual property investment and development. He added, “Through this partnership, we look forward to working together to create new projects that carry on the spirit and charm of the original while bringing fresh value to the franchise.”
Notably, James Gunn, co-CEO of DC Studios and director of the upcoming Superman reboot, co-wrote the original Lollipop Chainsaw story, which was co-directed by Goichi Suda (Suda51). However, neither creator was involved in the 2024 remaster. It remains uncertain whether Gunn or Suda51 will participate in any future game developments.
