Mortal Kombat 2 Trailer Premiere Date Revealed

Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema recently teased fans with deliberately campy Johnny Cage posters for “Mortal Kombat 2,” the highly anticipated sequel to the 2021 reboot film. Excitement is building as the first trailer for “Mortal Kombat 2” is set to debut very soon.

A special “kountdown” on Warner Bros.` YouTube channel confirms the “Mortal Kombat 2” trailer will premiere on Thursday, July 17, at 8:05 AM PT (11:05 AM ET). Key new cast members include Karl Urban taking on the iconic role of Johnny Cage, Adeline Rudolph portraying Kitana, and Tati Gabrielle as Jade.

Lewis Tan will return as Cole Young, the new character introduced as a central figure in the first film, though his exact prominence in the sequel remains to be seen. Fan-favorite actors reprising their roles include Ludi Lin (Liu Kang), Jessica McNamee (Sonya Blade), Mehcad Brooks (Jackson `Jax` Briggs), Chin Han (Shang Tsung), and Hiroyuki Sanada (Scorpion).

Intriguingly, Josh Lawson and Max Huang are set to return as Kano and Kung Lao, despite their characters` apparent demise in the previous movie. Damon Herriman, who previously voiced Kabal, will now embody the sorcerer Quan Chi. Furthermore, Joe Taslim`s character, Sub-Zero/Bi-Han, is confirmed to reappear in the film as Noob Saibot.

“Mortal Kombat 2” is slated for a theatrical release on October 24, 2025. For devotees of the classic games that inspired the film, good news awaits: “Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection,” a compilation featuring the first four games along with their console and handheld versions, will be available later this year.
