Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024: Jurassic World Expansion

Upcoming updates to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will introduce the iconic islands of Jurassic World, offering players a unique opportunity to observe dinosaurs from a secure, aerial perspective.

This “Jurassic World: Archipelago” DLC will integrate the Muertes Archipelago, famously known as “The Five Deaths” from the Jurassic Park and World film series, into the simulation. This Costa Rican island chain DLC is slated for release in late August or early September, initially for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, with a subsequent release for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.

Pilots can explore the five islands and sections of Costa Rica, engaging in diverse challenges and scenic tours. The DLC`s official website has confirmed the inclusion of several dinosaur species for players to encounter in their simulated natural environment, with more species to be announced:

  • Apatosaurus
  • Brachiosaurus
  • Dimorphodon
  • Gallimimus
  • Mosasaurus
  • Pteranodon
  • Stegosaurus
  • Tyrannosaurus rex
  • Velociraptor

The narrative of the DLC is set just prior to the events of the 2015 film Jurassic World, depicting Isle Nublar`s park on the verge of opening, complete with its recognizable structures and a fully operational monorail, but devoid of visitors. Additionally, Isle Sorna, known as Site B and featured in The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park 3, will be explorable, allowing players to discover the remnants of the facilities where the dinosaurs were originally bred.

Developed by Orbx Studios, the “Jurassic World: Archipelago” DLC will be purchasable via the Orbx Direct website and directly within the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 marketplace.

Recent reports suggested that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, alongside other first-party Microsoft games, might launch on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Although some titles, such as Gears of War: Reloaded, have indeed been confirmed for PS5, there has been no official announcement regarding Flight Simulator 2024`s availability on these new platforms.

For players seeking a more interactive dinosaur experience, Jurassic World Evolution 3 is scheduled for an October release, introducing baby dinosaurs to the park-management simulation series.
