Mastering Fable Quests in The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature

The enchanting realm of Innisgreen, introduced in The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature, is brimming with mysteries. A primary method to explore this world and its activities is through “Fables” – unique quests offered by local residents. There are a total of ten Fable quests, distributed among six different non-player characters (NPCs). You can identify these quest-givers by consulting the Fable Boards found in each Innisgreen district.

To initiate a Fable, simply interact with a quest-giver, navigate to “Friendly > Stories > Acquire Fable,” and choose from the available missions. Keep in mind, Sims can only actively pursue two Fables simultaneously. This guide provides a comprehensive walkthrough for completing all ten of these captivating quests.

Against All Odds

Joe Trader is just a regular guy.

This Fable is assigned by Joe Trader, typically found near the Fable Board in Sprucederry Grove. Your tasks involve gathering Lightning Root Leaves, resting or meditating outdoors, and discussing a context-dependent topic with three other Sims. Obtaining Lightning Root Leaves is straightforward, as a dedicated Lightning Root plant is available in Everdew for collection.

For sleeping or meditating in nature, a basic Natural Living skill is beneficial, though the action can be performed on any patch of ground. Engaging three Sims in conversation about a specific subject (e.g., nature, trading) is simple: click on a Sim, then select “Friendly > Small Talk > Talk about [topic].” No direct reporting back to Joe is needed. Upon completion, your Sim will earn the “Supernatural Shield” for protection against occult abilities and may also experience the “Emotional Void” ailment.

Deliver the News

Joe Trader, still in Sprucederry Grove, offers his second and arguably simplest Fable. He will provide your Sim with an Acorn, which must then be delivered to the Mossveil Fairy Hub in Everdew. Travel to Everdew, locate the distinctive building in the central area, and choose the “Deliver the tradesperson`s item” option.

The Mossveil Fairy Hub can be found in the center of the Everdew neighborhood.

Successfully completing this delivery finishes the Fable, granting your Sim a Fairy Seedling, a quantity of Fairy Dust, and potentially the “Creation Impulse” Ailment.

Stubborn Misfortune

Care Ren, a city official frequently seen near the Mossveil Fairy Hub, assigns this Fable.

The objective is straightforward: acquire an Emotion Potion from a fairy. Interact with any Sim, select “Friendly > Stories > Ask for an Emotion Potion.” The fairy will charge 50 Simoleons for the potion. Deliver the potion to Care Ren to conclude the Fable. Your rewards include access to the Starseed Teleporter in Everdew, various seeds, and the Emotion Potion itself.

The Ground`s Jewel

Also from Care Ren, this Fable becomes available only after `Stubborn Misfortune` is completed. Your mission is to utilize the Starseed Teleporter to reach the hidden Sylvan Glade lot and fish for a Treefish in its pond.

The Starseed Teleporter requires one stack of Fairy Dust, which Sims can obtain daily for free from the Mossveil Fairy Hub, conveniently located near Care Ren and the teleporter itself. While the Starseed Teleporter grants access to various secret Sims 4 locations (like Sixam and other DLC areas), for this quest, focus on Sylvan Glade. The Starseed Teleporter, meanwhile, is also nearby.

Fish in the pond until you successfully reel in a Treefish. The Fable will conclude instantly upon catching the fish, rewarding your Sim with a Houseplant and a Fruit of the PlantSim, which can transform a Sim into a green PlantSim for five days if consumed.

My Sleeping Giant

Locate Glen Nhoam in Innisgreen`s Coast of Adhmor neighborhood; he`s usually at his market stall next to the giant gnome during the day, or at his home in the northeast at night. This is one of Glen`s two Fables.

The quest involves waking the giant gnome near Glen`s stall using one stack of Fairy Dust. Fairy Sims can generate dust by `dusting themselves off` or `shaking their fairy home,` while regular Sims can request it from any fairy. Once your Sim possesses Fairy Dust, return to the giant gnome and awaken it. Although it will initially react angrily, your Sim can soothe it by interacting with it again. Completing this Fable grants your Sim a special perk: the ability to request gifts from the giant gnome.

Rise and Shine

Glen Nhoam`s second Fable requires your Sim to inquire about fairy beliefs from eight different non-fairy Sims residing in Innisgreen. To do this, click on a Sim and select “Friendly > Interests > What fairies do you believe in?”.

After successfully questioning eight Sims, you will be directed to the Fairy Ring in Sprucederry Grove, which appears as a circle of mushrooms.

Conclude the Fable by interacting with the Fairy Ring, selecting `I believe in…`, and choosing your desired patron fairy. Your Sim will then receive a gift from their chosen patron.

Be Kind, Unwind

Apothecary Todd spends his days at his market stand in Sprucederry Grove.

Apothecary Todd, operating a market stall in central Sprucederry Grove, offers this as his first Fable. Your Sim must forage for items while under the influence of the “Enchanted Eyes Elixir.” This elixir can be bought cheaply from Todd, or a Level 3 Apothecary Sim can craft it using basil, a lemon, and an acorn. After your Sim consumes the elixir from their inventory, direct them to forage by clicking on any outdoor patch of ground. Once an item is found, return it to Todd to complete the Fable. Your reward will be Todd`s “Lucky Liquid” elixir.

Ly Waiting

Upon finishing `Be Kind, Unwind,` Apothecary Todd (in Sprucederry Grove) will unlock this Fable, tasking your Sim with bottling three emotions. While not overly challenging, it requires some time. The easiest method is visiting Moondrop Spring in Everdew, where one emotion can be bottled every 12 in-game hours without any skill requirement. Alternatively, Sims can siphon emotions from glowing Moody Shrubs. Apothecaries at skill level 6 or higher can craft an Emotion Stone to bottle their own emotions, and fairies of Glowing rank and above can gain a magical ability for this task. Once three emotions are bottled, return them to Todd to complete the Fable, earning your Sim Small Critter Bones and a Holistic Cure elixir.

Plants Lie Here

You`ll find Zhaleh Amani by the Fable Board in Everdew.

Zhaleh Amani, an elderly woman typically found near the Fable Board in Everdew, offers this straightforward Fable. Your Sim needs to harvest two Bluebells from a Bluebell plant and deliver them to Zhaleh. While Bluebells can be found in the wild across Innisgreen, their exact location isn`t guaranteed. A simpler approach is to grow them yourself using starter seed packets, purchasable from any planter. Growing them requires patience, unless your Sim is a fairy, in which case they can instantly grow and bloom the plant.

After harvesting two Bluebells (usually achievable in a single harvesting action), return them to Zhaleh. This completes the Fable, rewarding you with an Aura Blossom seed and other assorted seeds.

Not Mushroom For Error

In the heart of Sprucederry Grove stands a peculiar Glaswood Tree. Interacting with it allows you to summon Spruce Almighty, Mother Nature`s former consort. Spruce`s Fable challenges your Sim to engage with four nearby mushrooms and solve their straightforward riddles.

These four mushrooms have some riddles for you.
These four mushrooms have some riddles for you.

Blue Mushroom

“Enchanted not, a natural glow. In day I sleep, at night I show. An eerie hue of ghostly play, instead of fright, I light the way! What am I?”

Answer: Bioluminescent Mushroom (requires Lightning Root Leaves)

Red Mushroom

“I’m often red, with spots about. I’m seen in film to gain some clout! I’m a fungi, I swear it’s true, but if you touch, Grim collects you! What am I?”

Answer: Fly Agaric or Amanita Muscaria (both refer to the same mushroom, so either works).

Green Mushroom

“A Laurent chef’s awarded dish. A forager’s ultimate wish. Rich but not rare, the Landgraab’s eat, but to the rags, a chocolate sweet. What am I?”

Answer: Truffle (only if your Sim possesses over 5,000 Simoleons).

Yellow Mushroom

“Come dance about, it’s time to play. Good luck or bad, we’re here to stay. A portal to a fairy land? Or toadstool spores’ outward expand? What am I?”

Answer: A Fairy Ring.

Solving all four riddles completes the Fable, granting your Sim their own Glaswood Tree and some Everdew Seeds.
