Marvel Rivals Season 3: New Knull Map and Resource Rumble Mode Revealed

Marvel Rivals` Season 3, titled “The Abyss Awakens,” continues to expand its offerings beyond the initial introduction of popular characters like Jean Grey (Phoenix) and Blade. Later this month, developer NetEase is set to debut a brand new game mode and a captivating map that brings Season 3`s primary antagonist, Knull, to the forefront of the action.

The recently unveiled map, known as “Throne of Knull,” is situated on Klyntar, the ancestral home planet of the Symbiotes. This chilling new arena features the ominous Venom Spire, which pierces through the planet`s core, and prominently displays Knull himself still confined to his formidable throne. Intriguingly, a preview video suggests Knull might not remain imprisoned for long, as he is seen absorbing Phoenix`s potent flames.

The “Throne of Knull” map will also serve as one of the key locations for the game`s upcoming competitive mode, “Resource Rumble.” Launching on August 21, “Resource Rumble” challenges teams to gather and secure enough resource points to claim victory. However, a dynamic twist allows teams to strategically steal points from their rivals, potentially snatching triumph from the brink of defeat.

In addition to these major content updates, NetEase is also preparing to launch an event called “Ancient Powers Awaken” on August 21. This event promises new epic rewards and will include a free Old Man Strange costume for the hero Doctor Strange. Players can also anticipate future announcements regarding significant improvements to Marvel Rivals` matchmaking and ranking systems, with details expected to be shared on August 21 across the game`s official social media channels.

Previously, NetEase made headlines by announcing plans to address toxic player behavior by implementing voice chat recording within Marvel Rivals. The developer has also indicated its creative independence, stating that future hero additions will not be solely reliant on MCU release schedules and may even include original characters developed specifically for the game`s universe.
