LEGO Unveils New Back to the Future DeLorean Kits for 40th Anniversary

The iconic `Back to the Future` franchise is marking its 40th anniversary this year. To commemorate this milestone, LEGO has revealed a new DeLorean time machine set, joining the LEGO Speed Champions collection. This particular kit is scheduled for release on January 1, 2026.

Comprising 357 pieces, this compact set offers a swift and enjoyable building experience. It includes minifigures of Marty McFly and Doc Brown, both of whom can be seated within the DeLorean. The completed model boasts remarkable screen accuracy, featuring bricks that mimic the original vehicle`s stainless steel look, a detailed flux capacitor at the back, and a lightning rod ready for 1.21 gigawatts of power. Additional customizable parts are included, allowing builders to transform the DeLorean into its flying mode from `Back to the Future Part II` by simply rotating the wheels.

While the new Speed Champions set is charming, serious collectors might prefer the more elaborate LEGO Icons DeLorean. This significantly larger kit, consisting of 1,872 pieces, delivers a stunning piece of cinematic art. It offers extensive customization options, enabling enthusiasts to recreate the DeLorean`s various iterations from all three `Back to the Future` films. Builders can choose to feature the lightning rod and plutonium chamber from the first film, implement flight mode with the Mr. Fusion generator from the second, or outfit it with whitewall tires, a circuit board, and interchangeable license plates to match its appearance in `Back to the Future Part III.`

Back to the Future 4K Blu-rays

Beyond LEGO sets, fans can also celebrate with the 40th Anniversary Back to the Future Steelbook Edition 4K Blu-ray Collection, which is now available. Although the exclusive Limited Edition Gift Set is currently out of stock, individual films can still be purchased. Each Blu-ray includes 4K, 1080p, and digital versions of the respective movies, along with new cover art reminiscent of Drew Struzan`s iconic original posters. These editions are packed with bonus content, offering hours of behind-the-scenes documentaries, commentary tracks, and more. All three films also support premium audio-visual standards like Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Dolby Atmos, and Dolby TrueHD 7.1 surround sound.
