The popular Netflix series “KPop Demon Hunters,” one of this year`s hits, is coming to Fortnite on October 2. This collaboration goes far beyond simple item shop skins. HUNTR/X will take over Battle Royale, Blitz, and Creative modes during the first week of `Fortnitemares,` preceding the main Halloween celebration. A teaser of the upcoming content is available:
The Fortnite and “KPop Demon Hunters” collaboration will significantly enrich the Fortnite ecosystem. At least three new items and weapons will be added to Battle Royale and Blitz: Rumi`s sword, Mira`s Spicy Ramyeon, and an updated teleporting void mask. There will also be `Demon Rush` — a KPop Demon Hunters-themed revamp of the limited-time `Horde Rush` mode, which Epic Games brings back every October. KPop Demon Hunter items and NPCs will be available for creating modes using Unreal Engine for Fortnite (UEFN), as seen previously with `Squid Game` and `The Walking Dead.`
Naturally, skins for each member of HUNTR/X will be available in the item shop. However, there is no information yet about any new jam tracks.
October promises to be a busy month for Fortnite. In addition to the `Fortnitemares` event, which will significantly change the loot pool in Battle Royale next week, October 2 also marks the start of Fortnite OG Season 6, and October 9 heralds the beginning of Fortnite Festival Season 11. The new music pass is expected to contain original Fortnite content rather than the usual licensed music and skins. However, the arrival of `KPop Demon Hunters` has led fans to wonder if HUNTR/X might headline the new Festival season, though this remains pure speculation due to the lack of leaks.
