The upcoming expansion for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, titled `Legacy of the Forge,` has received an official release date: September 9th. This marks the second story-driven DLC for the acclaimed RPG.
The announcement, accompanied by a new trailer, took place during Gamescom Opening Night Live in Cologne, Germany. The expansion`s description invites players to “test their blacksmithing prowess by reconstructing a ruined forge in Kuttenberg. Players can design and personalize the workshop, its surroundings, and their private quarters, with upgrades that offer both aesthetic appeal and practical benefits.”
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was released in early 2025, receiving complimentary updates that introduced features such as horse racing and a hardcore difficulty mode. Its inaugural paid expansion, `Brushes with Death,` debuted in May. Following `Legacy of the Forge,` players can anticipate `Mysteria Ecclesia` arriving later in 2025. Each expansion can be purchased separately, or collectively as part of a $30 bundle.
The game achieved impressive sales figures, reaching 2 million copies sold within its first two weeks and further climbing to 3 million within three months of release. Critics widely praised Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, with GameSpot awarding it a score of 9 out of 10.
Warhorse, the developer, has also ensured robust support for community mods, enabling players to introduce a diverse range of creative and unusual content into the game.
