The `Cozy Companions` event in Pokémon GO introduces Snom and Frosmoth, two new Ice-type Pokémon originating from the Sword and Shield games. This event marks their debut in Pokémon GO, offering players the first opportunity to catch them.
Unlike many other event Pokémon, Snom isn`t found in the wild. Instead, trainers can acquire this Ice-type Pokémon through hatching eggs or completing Research tasks. Evolving Snom into Frosmoth also requires specific steps. This guide provides essential tips to help you add both Snom and Frosmoth to your Pokémon GO collection.
How to Get Snom
Trainers have two primary methods to obtain Snom in Pokémon GO. Initially, during the `Cozy Companions` event, Snom can hatch from 7 km eggs; after the event concludes, it will be available in 5 km eggs. Alternatively, completing specific Timed Research tasks during the `Cozy Companions` event offers guaranteed encounters with Snom and other featured Pokémon. Given the uncertainty of egg hatches, focusing on Research tasks is generally the most reliable way to secure a Snom.
How to Evolve Snom into Frosmoth
Evolving Snom into Frosmoth requires more effort than catching Snom itself. First, you must assign Snom as your Buddy Pokémon and accumulate 10 hearts by engaging in activities such as feeding it a Poffin, playing with it, or taking photos. Once this bond is established, the evolution requires 400 Snom candies, which must be spent during nighttime in the game. To expedite candy collection, consider using a Pinap Berry when catching Snom from Research tasks, or convert any accumulated Rare Candies into Snom candies.
Can Snom Be Shiny?
Currently, Shiny Snom is not available in Pokémon GO. Any Snom encountered during the `Cozy Companions` event will appear in its standard coloration. While the exact release date for Shiny Snom remains unknown, new Shiny forms are typically introduced during special in-game events, suggesting a potential future debut.
The `Cozy Companions` event concludes on August 12th. Players should plan to acquire Snom and Frosmoth before this date.
