Hello Games Teases Massive Planet and Oceans for Upcoming Light No Fire

Almost a decade after its launch, No Man`s Sky continues to receive regular updates from Hello Games. One of the latest, `Voyagers,` has served as a special inspiration for their upcoming title, Light No Fire. According to Hello Games co-founder Sean Murray, the technological advancements made in No Man`s Sky will enable the creation of vast oceans and an even grander planet for exploration in Light No Fire.

Murray shared with PC Gamer that a significant portion of the technology introduced in the `Voyagers` update for No Man`s Sky will also be utilized in Light No Fire. This will be a truly open world set on a shared, Earth-sized planet featuring authentic oceans that will necessitate large ships and crews for traversal. He expressed excitement about the opportunity to share these developments with players early.

Hello Games first showcased Light No Fire in late 2023, with Murray touting it as `the first real open world.` Unlike its predecessor, the entire game will unfold on a single, shared planet inhabited by all players. The `Voyagers` update for No Man`s Sky was the first to introduce the capability for creating ships large enough to accommodate multiple player characters as crew members, hinting at the future direction of their next game.

Murray further emphasized that `the technical challenges programmers had to overcome to make any of this possible have been immense.` Nearly every aspect of the game required significant retooling to support these new `relative spaces.`

The `Voyagers` update is currently available. Additionally, No Man`s Sky players can acquire in-game items via Twitch Drops until September 1st.
