Hades II: Release Details and Physical Edition for Nintendo Switch

Supergiant Games officially announced during the Nintendo Direct on September 12 that Hades II will conclude its early access phase and launch on September 25. Following the successful path of its predecessor, Hades II will initially be available as a timed console exclusive on Nintendo consoles (Switch and Switch 2) and PC. The digital version of the game will be priced at $30. For those preferring a tangible copy, a physical edition of Hades II is slated for release on November 20, carrying a price tag of $50, and is currently available for preorder.

Physical Edition Details

The physical edition of Hades II, published by Nintendo, is confirmed to include the full game and any associated upgrade pack directly on the game cartridge. While the packaging will be branded for the Nintendo Switch 2, the game card itself ensures broad compatibility, functioning seamlessly across original Switch, Switch OLED, and Switch Lite models. This Switch 2-branded version represents the sole physical release of Hades II for Nintendo platforms.

Performance Specifications

For players on the advanced Nintendo Switch 2, Hades II promises impressive visual fidelity, rendering at 1080p resolution with a smooth 120 frames per second (fps). In handheld mode on the Switch 2, the game will maintain a crisp 1080p resolution at 60fps. Users of the original Nintendo Switch will experience Hades II at 720p resolution and 60 frames per second. A welcome feature for existing fans is the ability to transfer early access save files from PC to their Nintendo console, allowing a continuation of their journey without starting anew.

Digital Edition Pricing

As a reminder, the digital version of Hades II is consistently priced at $30 for both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 platforms, with any included upgrade packs being provided free of charge.
