ArenaNet`s long-running free-to-play MMORPG, Guild Wars 2, which originally launched in 2012, is set to release its sixth expansion, “Visions of Eternity,” on October 28. This new content invites players to embark on a journey to a mysterious island, where they can unlock a unique beachside Homestead.
In “Visions of Eternity,” players will venture into the unknown, to the fabled island of Castora. Their primary mission: to halt a malevolent faction aiming to exploit the island for their sinister objectives.
Upon its launch, “Visions of Eternity” will significantly enhance the 13-year-old MMORPG with numerous features. These include two new maps to explore, powerful new legendary weapons, updates to the Skimmer mount, expanded Homestead housing functionalities, and new elite specializations for every profession, offering broader character build possibilities.
The allure of a fantasy beach house on Castora serves as a major incentive for players to visit. They will have the opportunity to transform an island shipwreck into their personalized island getaway. Furthermore, new Homestead features will facilitate quick and easy sharing of housing designs, allowing other players to instantly replicate them, provided they possess the necessary decorations.
This marks the second Homestead option introduced in Guild Wars 2, following its debut in the prior expansion, “Janthir Wilds.” While players can only maintain one active Homestead at a time, a new “layouts” feature will enable them to instantly restore their home customizations when switching between different properties.

Similar to “Janthir Wilds,” “Visions of Eternity” is scheduled to receive three substantial free updates throughout 2026. These updates are planned to introduce additional story content, new maps, more legendary weapons, and further endgame activities to the expansion.
“Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity” is now available for preorder, with a selection of different editions. Pre-purchasing the $25 standard edition grants various bonus items, including a Sea Captain Hat headpiece, the “Eternal Alchemist” title, a shared inventory slot, and a level-80 character boost.
The $50 deluxe edition of “Visions of Eternity” includes the Castoran Tentacled Skimmer skin, an additional character slot, a set of Fairy`s Call Gathering tools, and an identity repair kit. For $75, the ultimate edition bundles all previous bonus items along with 4,000 Gems – Guild Wars 2`s premium currency, used for purchases in its in-game store.
