As you progress through the Grounded 2 campaign, you`ll be assigned the crucial task of hacking two O.R.C. transmitters. Reaching these devices can be quite challenging, especially if you lack the appropriate gear for their demanding locations. This guide will walk you through accessing the O.R.C. transmitters required for the `Signals and Stashes` mission.
These transmitters are situated at two key landmarks: the Picnic Table and the Trash Can. Detailed instructions for reaching both are provided below. Be aware that each location is guarded by O.R.C. enemies – hostile insects identified by their glowing purple receiver devices. Ensure you`re equipped with your preferred weapon and healing items like bandages. Hacking each O.R.C. transmitter also unlocks a bonus side objective, which we will cover in this guide.
How to reach the Picnic Table O.R.C. transmitter

The Picnic Table point of interest is located just north of the Snackbar, as depicted in the image above. This area of the map is easily recognized by its distinctive red and white-checkered tablecloth.
Before venturing to the Picnic Table, it`s crucial to prepare for the game`s cold effect. You`ll be navigating through a cooler, and without proper protection, your character will freeze. It`s best to wear armor that provides cold resistance or carry a few pieces of spicy candy.
For cold-resistant gear, the Mitey Muffs headpiece and the Fuzzy Mukluks are your earliest available options:
- Mitey Muffs require:
- 5 – Mite Fuzz
- 5 – Grub Hide
- Fuzzy Mukluks require:
- 3 – Bee Fuzz
- 2 – Bug Rubber
- 3 – Lingonberry Leather
- 2 – Silk Rope

Once you`re geared up for the cold, head to the Picnic Table location on the map. You`ll want to walk or use your buggy up the red and white-checkered tablecloth. Expect to encounter a few enemies along the way, including mites and spiders.
The very top of the tablecloth is blocked, so eventually, you`ll need to find an alternative route to reach the table`s summit. You`ll notice a crevice you need to bridge to continue along the path.

The safest way to cross is to slip under the tunnel created by the cloth, where you`ll also fight a few spiders. This path will lead you to a wooden beam you can traverse to reach the other side of the table. Several cockroach nymphs scurry around this new area, but you can typically ignore them as they won`t attack unless provoked.
Your objective marker will guide you to the entrance of a cooler. This is an outdoor beverage cooler, and it`s freezing inside. Ensure you have your cold-resistant gear equipped or spicy candy ready.

Navigate through the passageway inside the cooler, and you`ll finally reach the top of the picnic table. Here you`ll find the O.R.C. transmitter and need to interact with it to initiate the hack. Of course, you`ll likely need to fight off O.R.C. ladybugs and potentially spiders in order to reach it.
How to defeat the O.R.C. soldiers by the pines

Hacking the Picnic Table transmitter will update your quest objective to `find and defeat the O.R.C. soldiers by the Pines.` This sub-objective is relatively straightforward. An objective marker should lead you into the Pines section of the map, where you`ll find spiders and Lingonberries growing. However, if an objective marker does not appear for you, the area is found near the Ranger Outpost: Pine Hill. Simply head to the path on the left side of the outpost entrance.
This leads you to an area where you`ll need to fight off Orb Weaver O.R.C. enemies and hack another transmitter. Weapons like spears and daggers are effective here. While not exceedingly difficult, make sure you have bandages on hand just in case.
It`s also advisable to gather Lingonberries while you`re in the area. These are a vital component, as Lingonberry leather is needed in various essential crafting recipes.
How to reach the Garbage Can O.R.C. transmitter

To reach the Garbage Can, you`ll first need to acquire equipment to withstand the area`s toxic gas. A gas mask is highly recommended for the garbage can area. While Gastro Goo smoothies can provide temporary protection, they have a limited duration of effect. Either way, you`ll need to defeat a stinkbug to acquire necessary crafting components. Gathering a few dandelion tufts is also wise, as it`s quite easy to fall when navigating the top of the garbage can.
The gas mask requires:
- 1 – Weevil Nose
- 4 – Gnat Fuzz
- 2 – Crude Rope
- 1 – Stinkbug Part
The Gastro Goo smoothie requires:
- 1 – Stinkbug Gas Sack
- 1 – Roach Chunk
- 1 – Aphid Honeydew
Once you`re prepared to survive the gas, head over to the Garbage Can point of interest marked on the image above. This location is most easily traversed using the Red Soldier Ant buggy.

You`ll want to circumnavigate the can until you locate a nearby ledge. From here, you can jump onto a small branch protruding from the garbage can`s side. Then, leap onto a banana. While standing on the banana, turn around and jump onto the white plastic spork. Continue to follow this narrow path circling the can, ascending by traversing various limbs and ropes until you reach the top.

You`ll see the O.R.C. transmitter at the very top of the trash pile. You can potentially approach stealthily without attracting enemy attention, or you might find yourself in combat with an O.R.C. cockroach. Either way, you need to survive and interact with the device to hack it.
How to defeat the O.R.C. soldiers by the pond

Hacking the Garbage Can transmitter will update your quest objective to `find and defeat the O.R.C. soldiers by the pond.` This sub-objective is relatively straightforward. The objective marker will guide you to a section of the map abundant with berry bushes.
The berries are protected by O.R.C. bees, so be ready for combat. A bow and arrow can be effective for ranged combat in this area. You`ll also want to carry some bandages. While your primary goal is to eliminate the O.R.C. bees, it`s beneficial to remain and harvest the blueberries.
Blueberries are a valuable resource, as blueberry leather is required for several critical crafting recipes.
