Starting August 26, Fortnite Festival Season 10 will introduce the iconic band Gorillaz as its new headliner. This season brings a fresh music pass with both paid and free items, along with the first significant update to the Festival mode in several months. Say farewell to Bruno Mars, the previous headliner, and a warm welcome to 2D, Noodle, Russel, and Murdoc! This marks the first time, aside from Metallica last summer, that a group rather than an individual artist has headlined the Festival, and Epic Games is approaching the collaboration with Gorillaz somewhat differently than they did with the metal legends.
Gorillaz in the Fortnite Item Shop

Unlike the Metallica season, where skins for all members were available in both the shop and the music pass, the four fictional, cartoon members of Gorillaz are split between the pass and the item shop. 2D and Noodle will be featured in the shop throughout Season 10. Naturally, all Gorillaz skins are cel-shaded.
These two characters also bring their own accessories: a mic stand for 2D and a guitar for Noodle. The shop`s offerings are rounded out with a camo wrap, a contrail, a jam track for the song “Clint Eastwood,” and both an emote and a jam track for the song “Dare.” All items mentioned in this paragraph, except for the “Clint Eastwood” jam track, are included in a large bundle, but you can also purchase individual items if you only want one or two.
Gorillaz Music Pass

The remaining Gorillaz cosmetics can be found in the new music pass, priced at 1400 V-Bucks and also included with a Fortnite Crew subscription. Purchasing the pass immediately unlocks the Russel skin. Progressing through the pass by earning XP in any Fortnite mode will unlock a series of other cosmetics, culminating with the Murdoc skin at the end. Along the way, you can also unlock back blings, instruments (Russel`s drums and Murdoc`s bass), and four licensed jam tracks:
- On Melancholy Hill by Gorillaz
- Interstate Love Song by Stone Temple Pilots
- Run It Up by Hanumankind
- Montagem Tomada by MXZI
Free Items!
Following Fortnite tradition, the new music pass also offers a generous selection of free items, such as a keytar, an additional drum kit, an aura, and four new Epic-produced jam tracks, including the full version of the song from this emote.
Festival Updates

Epic rarely implements major changes to the Festival mode during a season, so for fans of the rhythm game, the start of a new season is an exciting time for quality-of-life improvements. For Season 10, several small but fundamental changes have been introduced to address specific player feedback:
- The appearance of lift notes has been redesigned to make them easier to read for players who struggle with them. This change can be toggled in settings if the new look is not preferred.
- A “Good” popup has been added for when players miss the center of a note, complementing the existing “Perfect” popup, to improve peripheral vision tracking.
- Songs on the Main Stage can now be sorted by length and difficulty.
- Players using guitar controllers and other non-gamepad devices can now strum when calibrating with the in-game “tuneup” tool.
The Festival Main Stage has also received a makeover, as shown above.
A Glimpse into Next Season
In a surprising announcement, Epic`s reveal for Season 10 also included a tease for what`s coming next, describing it as a “celebration” of Festival with “Fortnite-original rewards and awesome music.” This could indicate that the next season might not feature a headlining artist like Gorillaz or Bruno Mars, and Epic is proactively preparing players for this possibility.
