Gears Of War: Reloaded’s First Fixes Are Now Available

Upon its recent launch, Gears of War: Reloaded was met with a few technical glitches. Fortunately, the development team at The Coalition has been proactive, and solutions have either already been implemented or are expected very soon.

In a recent social media announcement, the studio confirmed it has resolved an issue that prevented players from accessing the exclusive Adam Fenix and Anya Stroud character skins, which were granted for pre-ordering the game on both Xbox and Steam. Additionally, the developer has addressed persistent Steam client crashes, with a dedicated update rolling out today, August 28, to rectify this problem.

The development team noted that preparing and releasing this fix required a thorough testing phase. Microsoft issued a warning that the deployment of this patch might cause brief interruptions to game services.

As of August 28, the user reviews for Gears of War: Reloaded on Steam are classified as `mixed.` On its launch day, the game achieved a peak concurrent player count of approximately 4,800.

Gears of War: Reloaded was released on August 26 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. This remastered version of the original title marks a significant moment as it`s the franchise`s first appearance on PlayStation consoles, after being an Xbox exclusive for 19 years. Interestingly, August 26 also coincided with the release of the PlayStation-published game, Helldivers 2, on Xbox.

Looking ahead, the next installment in the Gears of War series, Gears of War: E-Day, is scheduled for release in 2026.
