It was Doja Cat, the sole real-world personality among the featured lineup, who inadvertently sparked a significant social media discussion—or more precisely, the Fortnite X account (formerly Twitter) that she was temporarily managing.
Doja Cat was slated to take over the official Fortnite X account on a Wednesday, ahead of the major Fortnitemares announcement. However, the takeover took an unexpected turn when the account posted a message referencing “rose toys,” which many interpreted as an allusion to sex toys. Doja Cat swiftly responded from her personal X account, explicitly denying any involvement with the controversial post.
“I told them not to, man. That’s not even me,” she stated, clarifying, “I said this yesterday and then said `don’t post that` :/.”
The post was quickly removed following her public denial, but not before it had already been widely circulated across the internet, serving as a reminder that online content, once shared, can be permanent.
