Fortnite has recently unveiled several new collaborations this week, featuring content from Gorillaz, the Front Man from Squid Game, and One-Punch Man. Epic Games continues its rapid rollout of partnerships, as the official Fortnite Instagram account recently hinted at an upcoming skin inspired by a space dwarf from the co-op shooter Deep Rock Galactic.

A countdown timer suggests this dwarf-themed skin, standing at six feet tall, will become available in the Fortnite item shop on Friday, coinciding with the typical 5 PM PT reset. While such releases often include accompanying accessories like a pickaxe, back bling, and weapon wrap, this isn`t guaranteed for all individual gaming crossovers. For instance, the Goat skin from Goat Simulator (which shares a publisher with Deep Rock Galactic) did not come with any additional items. The teaser image itself provides no further details on potential bundles.
This collaboration marks a less common occurrence for Fortnite, as Deep Rock Galactic is not hosted on the Epic Games Store. While infrequent, such partnerships are not unprecedented, especially given that Halo content recently appeared in the battle pass despite its absence from EGS.
Deep Rock Galactic, a co-op shooter that first launched in early access on PC and Xbox in 2018 and fully released in 2020, allows players to embody customized fantasy dwarfs. Their mission involves mining precious resources within procedurally generated cave networks on a dangerous alien world. This crossover event appears timed to promote the upcoming spin-off, Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, a top-down shooter set to leave early access in September.
