During Chapter 6 Season 4 of Fortnite, players have been actively discussing changes to XP gain rates, as Epic Games appears to have significantly slowed down normal experience acquisition. Given that this season is a month longer than the previous one, this decision wasn`t entirely surprising. Fortunately, Fortnite is easing the burden slightly by offering double XP all weekend. This bonus will be active until Monday morning, September 8, at 6 AM PT / 9 AM ET.
Double XP weekends are quite a rare occurrence in Fortnite. Typically, when Epic Games aims to accelerate player progression, they introduce limited-time quests with simple objectives, easily completable in Battle Royale, Reload, or other modes the company wishes to promote. The last similar double XP event took place in March.
Double XP isn`t Epic`s only new offering this weekend. Blitz Royale is hosting a “Golden Llamageddon” event, where the map will be filled with special golden llama piñatas containing high-tier loot. Furthermore, in Battle Royale, several classic weapons have been unvaulted, including the Grapple Glove, the Boom Bow, the original Pump Shotgun, and the much-loved Holo Twister rifle, a fan favorite during the first two seasons of Chapter 6.

Meanwhile, in Fortnite OG, events are unfolding differently from the original Chapter 1 Season 5; the famous purple cube Kevin has been replaced by the colossal red cube, Revin.
All these special events are expected to conclude simultaneously with the end of the double XP bonus on Monday, giving players a limited window to enjoy these features before things return to normal.
