First Metal Gear Solid Delta Update Fixes Crashes and Floating Snake Bug

Konami has rolled out the inaugural update for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater across all gaming platforms. This essential patch primarily targets and resolves various crashing problems encountered during specific gameplay scenarios within the stealth title. Additionally, it rectifies a humorous glitch that caused Snake`s character model to levitate mid-air.

Previously, players of Metal Gear Solid Delta might have observed Snake inexplicably hovering off the ground when performing a specific roll-to-crawl maneuver. This significant update elevates the game to version 1.1.2. While the PC (Steam) version received the patch on August 28th, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users are getting it today.

Earlier this week, voice actress Lori Alan, who originally portrayed The Boss in the 2004 PS2 classic, celebrated the launch of Metal Gear Solid Delta by dressing up as her iconic character. The remake largely reuses the original voice performances, though Snake`s voice actor, David Hayter, expressed a desire for new recordings in certain areas. The development team for Metal Gear Solid Delta aims for series creator Hideo Kojima to appreciate the respectful approach taken with the remake.

Looking forward, the game is set to introduce a new hide-and-seek multiplayer mode, “Fox Hunt,” later this autumn. The complete patch notes for this update are provided below:

Version 1.1.2 Patch Notes

  • Resolved an issue where performing consecutive survival knife attacks to secure food could cause the game to crash under certain conditions.
  • Fixed an issue where removing the Crocodile Cap from the Survival Viewer while equipped could cause the game to crash under certain conditions.
  • Addressed crashes that could occur when collecting food near a hungry crocodile under certain conditions.
  • Corrected an issue where transitioning from a roll into a crawl could cause the character model to float in midair.
  • Fixed an issue where player movement could become restricted under certain conditions in areas where Intrusion View is used.
  • Resolved an issue where the game could crash under certain conditions while in Radio Window.
