Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade Arrives on Switch 2, Includes Magic: The Gathering Cards

Pre-orders are now open for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade on Nintendo Switch 2, available through major retailers. Surprisingly, this anticipated port carries a price tag of just $40. The game is slated for release on January 22, 2026, for both Nintendo Switch 2 and Xbox Series X|S. Notably, Square Enix is providing a physical-only edition for the Switch 2, which will bundle several in-game incentives and a special Magic: The Gathering Final Fantasy Play Booster Pack.

Both the physical and digital versions of FFVII Remake Intergrade for Switch 2 will feature the `Intermission` DLC, starring Yuffie, alongside these valuable in-game items:

  • Weapon: Cacstar
  • Armor:
    • Midgar Bangle
    • Shinra Bangle
    • Corneo Armlet
  • Accessories:
    • Superstar Belt
    • Mako Crystal
    • Seraphic Earrings
  • Summoning Materia:
    • Carbuncle
    • Chocobo Chick
    • Cactuar

Exclusively with the physical Switch 2 edition, players will receive a Magic: The Gathering Play Booster pack, containing 14 cards from the highly sought-after Final Fantasy crossover collection. This physical release also boasts reversible cover art, presenting Cloud and Sephiroth on one side, and Cloud observing the Shinra building on the other.

Consistent with other Square Enix releases for the Switch 2, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade will be distributed as a Game-Key Card, necessitating a download from the eShop upon card insertion. This approach was likely unavoidable for Square Enix, as the Switch 2 typically uses 64GB game cards, while FFVII Remake Intergrade is a substantial 87.9GB, making it the largest title announced for the console thus far.

Players who do not already possess a microSD Express Card might consider acquiring one in advance, as the Switch 2`s 256GB SSD storage may be insufficient for the game`s download.

Additional Pre-orders from the Nintendo Direct Showcase

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade was prominently featured during the September Nintendo Direct, alongside another Square Enix RPG. Coincidentally, the second title was also a remake of the seventh installment in a beloved turn-based RPG franchise: Dragon Quest VII Reimagined. This extensively revamped edition of the PlayStation 1 classic is slated for release on February 5 across consoles and PC.

A selection of other games revealed during the Nintendo Direct are also currently available for pre-order:
