Amazon has restocked its Prime Day offer on the Final Fantasy I-VI Collection Anniversary Edition for Nintendo Switch. This collection of six classic games is available at a discounted price of $45, down from its usual $75. Note that this deal is set to expire tonight when Prime Day concludes (12 AM PT).
The PlayStation 4 version of the collection is also currently in stock. Amazon has slightly lowered its price further, allowing PlayStation users to purchase a copy for $42.74.
Initially released last October for Switch and PlayStation, the Anniversary Edition is a true physical release, containing all six Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters on a single Switch cartridge or PS4 disc (fully compatible with PS5). Square Enix first produced a physical release in 2023, but the limited print run sold out very quickly. The re-release last fall brought the Anniversary Edition to major retailers for the first time.

Pixel Remaster Features
All six games have received extensive graphical and audio overhauls as part of the Pixel Remaster series. Square Enix remodeled the character sprites, basing the new designs on the original pixel art. The rearranged soundtracks were created under the supervision of series composer Nobuo Uematsu. Players have the option to switch between the rearranged and original soundtracks.
Numerous quality-of-life enhancements have been implemented across the collection. These include features such as quick save, customizable text fonts, adjustable experience multipliers, auto-battle options, the ability to toggle random encounters on or off, an in-game bestiary, an illustration gallery, and a music player.
The Pixel Remasters project originally debuted on PC and mobile between 2021 and 2022, starting with the earlier 8-bit titles. The collection was later ported to PlayStation and Switch in 2023, followed by a release on Xbox Series X|S in September 2023.
For long-time fans in North America, it`s worth noting that the game known there as “Final Fantasy III” for many years was actually Final Fantasy VI. The proper Final Fantasy III was initially exclusive to Japan until its 3D remake for the Nintendo DS. Playing through this collection offers a unique opportunity to observe the significant evolution of the Final Fantasy series from its 8-bit roots on the Nintendo Entertainment System to its 16-bit era peak on the Super Nintendo.
