Endless Legend 2 is officially set to launch in early access on PC Game Pass this month. Developer Amplitude Studios has made the announcement that this highly anticipated sequel to their critically acclaimed 2014 fantasy 4X strategy game, Endless Legend, will be available on PC Game Pass from its very first day of release. This new installment promises to transport players to an intriguing oceanic world named Saiadha, a significant departure from Auriga, the terrestrial setting of the original game.
Earlier this year, the initial announcement trailer for the sequel offered a compelling glimpse into Saiadha`s mysterious and ominous backstory. The planet is portrayed as a vast prison, housing an unnamed, god-like entity, whose immense power is metaphorically confined by its sprawling oceans. The enigmatic voice narrating the trailer conveyed a chilling certainty: one of the warring factions, in their quest for power, would inevitably be foolish enough to unleash this ancient being.
In Endless Legend 2, players will be presented with the strategic choice of leading one of six distinct factions and races. Each faction will strive for ultimate dominance over Saiadha`s dynamic and ever-changing landscape. The decisions and actions undertaken by players will directly dictate the pace and effectiveness with which their chosen faction can expand its territorial reach, often at the expense of rival factions. During the initial early access period, four of these factions will be immediately playable, with the remaining two additional factions slated for introduction upon the game`s full and official release.
A limited demo version of Endless Legend 2 was made available for a few days in August, offering players a valuable preview of the game with two playable factions. This demonstration highlighted several key features, including spectacular cataclysmic tidefalls that dramatically reshape the world`s geography, the presence of 15 minor factions available for interaction, and the thrilling opportunity to confront the Necrophage – a terrifying, insectoid-like species infamous for its ability to infect and transform other races into their own kind through a virulent plague.
The early access period for Endless Legend 2 is officially scheduled to commence on September 22.
