EA CEO Envisions All 350 College Basketball Programs in Upcoming Game

EA CEO Andrew Wilson expressed his desire to include “all 350 programs” in the revived NCAA Basketball game from EA Sports, a statement he made during a recent quarterly earnings call.

According to Insider Gaming, Wilson, though somewhat vague on specifics, confirmed his ambition to feature all universities, including men`s and women`s teams, their traditions, rivalries, and “March Madness,” when asked about the game`s return after a 16-year hiatus.

The exact release date for EA`s new college basketball game is not yet set, but an internal memo obtained by Extra Points reportedly mentions 2028. The last game in the series, NCAA Basketball 10, was released in 2009. The franchise itself dates back to 1998, starting as NCAA March Madness 98.

Unlike EA Sports College Football, EA may face competition in the college basketball market. It is reported that 2K Sports is also developing its own college basketball game, though it is expected to include only about 100 programs.
