Donkey Kong Bananza Gets Early Discount on Amazon

Update: This deal has expired.

Just one week after its launch, Donkey Kong Bananza has already received its first major price reduction. Amazon is currently offering the highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive for $63, a 10% markdown from its original $70 price. This early discount is quite unusual for a new Switch 2 launch title, and it`s anticipated that this offer won`t last long, either due to a price increase or stock depletion. The savings could be put towards the recently released Amiibo figure featuring Donkey Kong and Pauline.

Developed by the acclaimed team responsible for Super Mario Odyssey, Donkey Kong Bananza is garnering excellent reviews. GameSpot awarded it a 9/10, and it currently boasts an impressive 90 Metascore on the review aggregation site Metacritic.

Unlike some third-party titles that use “Game-Key Cards” requiring downloads, Donkey Kong Bananza, like other first-party Nintendo Switch 2 games, comes with the complete experience fully contained on the game card. While initially listed at 10GB, the actual file size is a more modest 8.7GB, meaning no significant downloads are required (barring future patches).

While the $63 offer is exclusive to Amazon, the game is also available at Walmart for $69, and at Best Buy, Target, and GameStop for its standard price of $70.

New Donkey Kong & Pauline Amiibo

The new Donkey Kong & Pauline Amiibo is priced at $30, aligning with other recent Switch 2 Amiibo releases like those from The Legend of Zelda series. Scanning this Amiibo grants early access to Pauline`s Diva Dress and provides useful Kong Tile power-ups. Furthermore, all existing Nintendo Amiibo figures are compatible with Bananza, offering additional gold Kong Tiles upon scanning.

Walmart is offering a bundle that includes the physical edition of Donkey Kong Bananza and the Donkey Kong & Pauline Amiibo for $98. This provides a $2 savings compared to buying both items at their combined MSRP, or a $1 savings if purchased separately at Walmart`s individual prices ($69 for the game, $30 for the Amiibo).

Recommended Controllers for Nintendo Switch 2

For those yet to acquire the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, Amazon now stocks this excellent traditional gamepad designed for TV mode. It features remappable back buttons, proving beneficial for titles such as Donkey Kong Bananza and the Switch 2 versions of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Alternatively, the 8BitDo Ultimate 2 Bluetooth Controller is a recommended $70 option, boasting four additional remappable buttons, trigger locks, premium TMR thumbsticks, and extensive customization options savable across three profiles. Its turbo button is particularly advantageous for Donkey Kong Bananza gameplay.
