Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor: Full Launch & Xbox/Game Pass Debut Confirmed

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor quickly gained popularity, selling a million copies within its first week during early access. This top-down single-player shooter is now preparing for its official release next month, with a Gamescom announcement confirming its arrival on Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass.

The full version of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is set to launch on PC and Xbox Series X|S on September 17th. Chris Pereira of GameSpot lauded the early access experience, drawing comparisons to Vampire Survivors. In the game, players embody a lone dwarf miner, choosing from four distinct classes: Driller, Engineer, Scout, or Gunner. Each class provides unique skills and gameplay approaches for traversing Hoxxes IV, a dynamically generated world teeming with hostile extraterrestrials and immense treasures.

Ghost Ship Games finalized the release date for Survivor earlier this year. They also stated that this launch decision necessitated the exclusion of `Endless Mode` from the initial release. Funday Games developers clarified that implementing Endless Mode presented significant technical hurdles that would have delayed the game`s launch. Nevertheless, plans are in place to introduce Endless Mode to Survivor in a future update.

Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor isn`t the only derivative title stemming from the acclaimed shooter Deep Rock Galactic. Ghost Ship Games is also developing a roguelite spin-off titled Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core. While a release date for Rogue Core has not yet been announced, a trailer was unveiled earlier this year.
