Community Chooses Shrooms as Next Drug Type for Schedule 1 Simulator

Schedule 1, a highly-rated early-access drug-dealing simulation game on Steam, is preparing to introduce a new drug type into its gameplay, following an decisive vote from its player community.

Developer TVGS recently announced via a Steam post that “shrooms” were the clear winner in a community poll, securing over 269,000 votes. This makes them the fourth official drug type to be added to Schedule 1. Other proposed features, “drivers” (which received 139,000 votes) and “fishing” (with 85,000 votes), did not win this round but TVGS confirmed they would be reconsidered in subsequent community votes.

The upcoming addition of shrooms will bring several new elements to the game, including a distinct production process, specialized equipment that can also be utilized for other existing drugs, new ingredients, and a fresh set of customers, as detailed by TVGS.

Players can expect this update to arrive sometime between mid-October and late November. TVGS clarified that this release window is intentionally broad to prevent potential delays and to allow ample time for the game`s Halloween update, which is slated for October 31.

Schedule 1 first launched in March 2025, offering players the opportunity to build a drug-dealing empire from the ground up. Its most recent “Rival Cartels” update, released in August, introduced competitive elements against the Benzies family cartel. This update brought new mechanics such as cartel deals, ambushes, dealer robberies, and dead drop thefts. Furthermore, players gained the ability to purchase a new property, the Hyland Manor, after successfully completing the Benzies family storyline.

According to the game`s Steam Early Access FAQ, Schedule 1 is planned to remain in early access for approximately two years. During this period, the developers intend to expand the game`s map, introduce more varieties of drugs, and add further “fun things” for players to spend their in-game cash on. TVGS also indicated that the price of Schedule 1 might experience a “slight” increase upon its full release from early access. Currently, the game is available for $20 and has been recognized as one of the top co-op titles of 2025.
