Bandai Namco`s highly anticipated Code Vein II showcased a brand-new, intense trailer during the September 24th PlayStation State of Play event. Alongside the thrilling footage, a definitive release date of January 30, 2026, was officially announced.
Code Vein II serves as the direct continuation of 2019`s beloved cult-classic action RPG, Code Vein, known for its unique vampire aesthetic. Players are thrust back into a grim dark fantasy realm where humans and the undead, vampiric beings known as Revenants, uneasily coexist. A sinister and enigmatic power, dubbed the Luna Rapacis, is systematically corrupting Revenants, turning them into uncontrollable, destructive beasts. As the player`s custom protagonist, you`ll join forces with Lou, a young woman possessing peculiar time-manipulating abilities, on a critical quest to uncover the source of the Luna Rapacis and avert the world`s impending ruin.
Key gameplay mechanics will revolve around time-travel and extensive exploration, complementing the series` signature `blood action` combat system. Players will have extensive options to personalize their character, from their visual appearance to their abilities and arsenal. This includes two newly introduced weapon types: Rune Blades and Dual Swords. Additionally, the game introduces `Forma` skills, which unleash diverse and potent effects. The trailer offered a glimpse of some of these, specifically showcasing the Motorcycle Forma and the devastating Absolute Execution Sword.
