CloverPit, a self-described rogue-lite slot machine horror experience, was initially slated for a September 3rd release. However, this changed when Silksong`s September 4th launch date was announced. Like several other titles, CloverPit adjusted its schedule to avoid direct competition, with developer Panik Arcade releasing an updated demo to mark what would have been its original release day.
Panik Arcade characterizes CloverPit as “the demonic lovechild of Balatro and Buckshot Roulette,” applying the captivating gameplay of Balatro to an engaging lever-pull slot machine concept, infused with a significant dose of horror. Recognizing CloverPit`s potential but also the formidable challenge of competing with Silksong, Panik Arcade prudently decided to postpone its full launch to September 26th.
To commemorate its original release date, Panik Arcade unveiled a refined demo, which the developers state is “much closer to the 1.0 release.” This demo update introduces a host of new features, including Steam Achievements, fresh charm modifiers, various quality-of-life enhancements, and even a plot update.
Players can now experience the CloverPit demo on Steam, ahead of its complete release later in September.
Other Games Affected by Silksong`s Launch
CloverPit was not the sole game to shift its launch plans due to the highly anticipated Hollow Knight sequel, Silksong, which fans have awaited for years. The adventure RPG Faeland also delayed its 1.0 debut to avoid the conflict, though it remains accessible via Steam Early Access. Similarly, Aeternum Game Studios pushed Aeterna Lucis from September to 2026, though Silksong`s announcement was only one contributing factor to that significant delay.
Silksong, the long-awaited follow-up to the 2017 indie sensation Hollow Knight, makes its debut today. It will be available on Xbox Game Pass from launch, accessible through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.
