Actor Charlie Cox, widely recognized for his portrayal of Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, lent his voice to the character Gustave in the critically acclaimed game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Despite the game`s successful debut earlier this year and praise for its voice cast, Cox, who has openly stated he`s not an avid gamer, revealed he has yet to play the game himself. However, it seems his perspective is shifting, and he`s now ready to immerse himself in the world of Expedition 33.
During a recent appearance at Galaxy Con, as reported by Kotaku, Cox shared that his last gaming experience dates back nearly three decades to Super Mario 64 on the Nintendo 64. Yet, the overwhelming positive feedback surrounding Expedition 33 has clearly captured his interest. Cox expressed his eagerness, stating, “I want to play the game. I need to play the game. I need to get a console first, and then I need to play the game…” He also conveyed his admiration for the game`s developers, Sandfall Interactive, remarking, “I`m so happy for these guys because they`re not like a big company that makes a ton of games. And I hear it`s a frontrunner to win Game of the Year or something. It`s really cool.”
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has garnered significant recognition since its release. Until recently, it held the distinction of being the best-rated game of 2025, only surpassed by the Switch 2 upgrade for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Esteemed figures within the gaming industry, including Hideo Kojima, have consistently offered glowing reviews for Expedition 33.
Sandfall Interactive, the studio behind Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has communicated with its fanbase regarding potential future updates and new features that might be incorporated into the game. Additionally, the developer is actively engaged in the production of their next title, confirming that it will not be a direct sequel to Expedition 33.
