Chuwi Offers Refunds for Laptops Sold with Incorrect CPUs Due to Production Error

Chuwi has officially confirmed that some notebooks from its CoreBook X and CoreBook Plus series were sold with processors that did not match the advertised specifications. The Chinese company attributed the issue to a production error, offering full refunds for affected devices.

A limited number of units were erroneously equipped. For instance, some models promoted with AMD Ryzen 5 7430U CPUs were actually fitted with the AMD Ryzen 5 5500U, a different and older processor.

Limited-Time Refund Procedure

To request a refund, customers must initiate the process through their original purchase channel or by contacting Chuwi support directly. The deadline for claims is May 31, 2026, provided that the products are returned complete with accessories and in their original condition.

While a solution is offered, the exact number of affected units has not been specified, nor have detailed explanations been provided regarding the origin of the error within the production chain. The company’s communication has solely acknowledged the problem.

It is also noted that other products, such as the UBox mini PC, might exhibit similar discrepancies, although they are not included in the official refund program.
