Captain Jack Sparrow’s Iconic Ship Returns as New LEGO Set

Prepare for adventure as Lego is set to release a highly anticipated new set from the Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise. The iconic pirate ship of Captain Jack Sparrow, the Black Pearl, is making a grand return as part of the Lego Icons collection. This impressive set, designated as the 2025 version, will officially launch on September 15 for $380. However, members of Lego`s free rewards program can get early access, purchasing the set starting September 12. Early buyers from September 12-18 will also receive a free Lego replica of Jack Sparrow`s legendary compass as a special gift.

This detailed 2,862-piece model of the Black Pearl, renowned as one of the fastest ships in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, comes complete with eight Lego minifigures: Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, Gibbs, Cotton, Anamaria, Marty, Elizabeth Swann, and Hector Barbossa. Once assembled, the ship stands 64cm (25 in.) tall and measures 64cm (25 in.) in length. It boasts several interactive features, including a functional steering wheel and rudder system, rotatable dials to position the port and starboard cannons, and accessible interior sections.

The model is ingeniously designed to split at the waterline, revealing intricate captain`s quarters and crew compartments. It also includes thoughtful film-accurate accessories, such as one of the cursed gold pieces central to the first Pirates movie`s plot, adding an extra layer of authenticity for fans.

While a Lego Black Pearl set was previously released in 2011, this new 2025 version offers significant enhancements, being considerably larger and more detailed, specifically designed to accommodate minifigures. Interestingly, the set is officially marketed as `Captain Jack Sparrow`s Ship` rather than `The Black Pearl` on its packaging and promotional materials, a choice likely reflecting the ship`s strong association with its infamous captain.

For those seeking the perfect ambiance while constructing this magnificent model, the complete Pirates of the Caribbean film collection is available on Blu-ray, offering all five movies in a single bundle, perfect for a themed building session.

Other Notable LEGO Ship Sets

Beyond the high seas of the Caribbean, Lego has also recently ventured into other iconic seafaring vessels. Fans of One Piece, particularly the Netflix live-action series, can now acquire the 1,376-piece Going Merry set, which was released in early August.

The River Steamboat, a meticulous tribute to classic 19th-century paddle steamers, is a substantial 4,090-piece set. Measuring an impressive 69cm (27 in.) in length once built, it features a fully operational wheelhouse with a working steering wheel connected to the rudder, and includes all necessary components for an elegant display.

The Endurance recreates the legendary real-life ship used by Sir Ernest Shackleton and his crew on their perilous Antarctic voyage, which famously sank in 1915. This 3,011-piece Lego replica, once assembled, stretches an impressive 80cm (32 in.) long. The detailed display model boasts three masts, ten full sails, a flying Red Ensign flag, and an intricate rigging system, truly capturing the spirit of the historic vessel and the resilience of its crew.
