Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Reveal Set for Gamescom

The global premiere of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is scheduled to take place during Gamescom Opening Night Live this August, as announced by the event`s organizer, Geoff Keighley.

Fans can anticipate the unveiling during the live broadcast on Tuesday, August 19th. The event is set to begin at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET / 8 PM CEST. Following Keighley`s announcement, the official Call of Duty account shared an animated GIF of Black Ops 7, signaling to fans, “See you soon.”

Black Ops 7 was initially revealed in June during the Xbox Games Showcase. Activision intentionally kept the pre-reveal hype to a minimum.

The game is set in the year 2035 and is being developed with the aim of being the most “mind-bending” installment in the Black Ops franchise to date. This release is particularly noteworthy as it marks the first time Activision is launching Black Ops titles in back-to-back years. Treyarch and Raven Software are the primary co-developers for Black Ops 7, having also collaborated on the preceding Black Ops game released in 2024.

Alongside Black Ops 7, it is expected that Call of Duty: Warzone will receive subsequent updates directly tied to the new game. The reveal trailer for Black Ops 7 even included a potential hint at an upcoming new map for Warzone.

The voice cast features notable actors including Milo Ventimiglia, who plays David Mason. Other celebrity voice talent includes Kiernan Shipka as Emma Kagan, and Michael Rooker, who is reprising his role as Mike Harper from the game Black Ops 2.

Black Ops 7 is slated for release later this year and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC platforms. While there has been no official announcement regarding a version for the potential Switch 2 console, both Activision and Microsoft have previously stated their ongoing commitment to bringing Call of Duty titles to Nintendo systems.
