Gearbox has released a new update for Borderlands 4 on PC, addressing critical issues, especially concerning the game`s stability. According to the official game website, this patch aims to `enhance PC stability, streamline progression, and refine the Gilded Glory Pack`s loot and rewards for a smoother experience.` Gearbox highlighted fixes for crashes linked to animations, audio, collision, and GPU performance.
The update also adjusts the Gilded Glory Pack`s loot and rewards. Items from this pack, which is a preorder bonus comprising four legendary weapons and a cosmetic head, will no longer drop from standard chests. Furthermore, the Reward Center`s functionality when claiming these items has been corrected.
This patch follows a period of significant criticism for Borderlands 4`s PC version, despite its successful Steam launch on September 12. While Gearbox affirmed that addressing these issues was a `top priority,` studio head Randy Pitchford also vocalized his opinions regarding player complaints.
Borderlands 4 is currently available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a Nintendo Switch 2 release planned for October 3. The comprehensive patch notes are detailed below:
