Black Ops 7 Season 1: Unprecedented Launch Content Revealed

During the recent Call of Duty: Next event, Activision and Treyarch shared exciting details about the upcoming post-launch support for Black Ops 7. Kicking off with Season 1, this period is being hailed as the “biggest in franchise history” for an initial season accompanying a new Call of Duty title, promising a vast amount of new content.

Specifically, Season 1 is set to significantly expand Black Ops 7`s multiplayer offerings with seven additional 6v6 maps. Fans of the Zombies mode will also be delighted, as the update includes two new Zombies Survival maps and one new round-based Zombies map. Furthermore, there`s a strong indication that new content will also be integrated into Call of Duty: Warzone.

Following Activision`s long-standing tradition, seasonal content for Call of Duty games is typically rolled out progressively rather than all at once. This strategy often involves an initial release of content at the season`s start, followed by further additions through subsequent “Reloaded” updates.

Players eager for new environments won`t have to wait until Season 1 for new maps, as a fresh iteration of the beloved Nuketown map is slated for release before the season officially begins. At launch, Black Ops 7 will feature a substantial total of 18 maps, including 16 dedicated to 6v6 engagements and two designed for the larger-scale 20v20 Skirmish mode.

When Will Season 1 Commence?

Activision has yet to announce the specific start date for Black Ops 7`s Season 1. For context, last year`s Black Ops 6 launched on October 25, 2024, with its Season 1 beginning on November 14, 2024 – roughly 20 days post-launch. If Black Ops 7 adheres to a similar schedule, its Season 1 could potentially debut around early December. However, this remains unconfirmed and is merely an estimation at this stage.

A welcome piece of news is that all maps released after the game`s initial launch will be provided to players for free. Nonetheless, Black Ops 7 is anticipated to feature an in-game store where players can purchase various items using real money. Activision has also hinted at a possible shift away from producing overly outlandish or “wacky” cosmetic skins. Additionally, it has been confirmed that cosmetic skins from Black Ops 6 will not carry over to Black Ops 7.

Enthusiasts will have the chance to experience Black Ops 7`s multiplayer firsthand during a beta phase, scheduled to run from October 2 through October 8. The complete game is set to officially launch on November 14.
